Summer Congrats

Today’s post was so much fun. It took care of a couple cards off my to do list! The first was a baby boy congratulations card with a sailboat theme. I remember when I was little, my Mom dressed my brother and I in sailor outfits and had our picture made. It was so cute. The second was the Late Night Stampers Challenge 21 this week for a summer themed card. I can just see myself kicked back in a chair on the deck watching the sailboats moving across the water on a warm summer afternoon. Now that’s the life!

Sailboat

Sail InsideCouldn’t you see the card as a cute baby shower or maybe a pool party invite?

The inspiration for this one came from the sailboat stamp in the Life’s A Breeze stamp set and the recent flower pot cards. I notched the sides of the boat to hold the black hemp twine in place around it. This secured the front and back and made a pocket for the sail to slip into. The message is written under the sail and slipped inside.

Hope you enjoyed this one as much as I.

Cardstock: Basic Black, Tempting Turquoise, Whisper White, Real Red

LNS Challenge 20

It has been some time since I have posted. I missed chatting with you and all of my stamping friends. My favorite vacation spot just happens to be the beach, and I have been there soaking up the sun! My family and I went down for a visit for Memorial Day. The weather at the beginning of the week was cold and windy. After a couple of days, the skies filled with warm sunny rays. I also managed to get in a little shopping at the outlet malls. What a bonus!

Before leaving on Monday I posted this card to Late Night Stampers for the challenge. Thought I would share it today. Challenge 20 was a color challenge, Ruby Red, Kraft, Chocolate Chip and Old Olive. Here’s my take on the challenge…

Last Challenge Card for Late Night Stampers

Well, did everyone enjoy the blog tour? Wow, wasn’t it a ride? Hope you had a chance to hop on the other two tours also. We are planning another excursion for the end of July, hope you will join us. The next one features items from the new Stampin’ Up Idea Book and Catalog.

Today’s post is the last card submitted for Challenge 19 on Late Night Stampers. I had fun with this one. I love going home to Macon for a visit, the heading back is the difficult part. This past trip, like all the others, I stood waving goodbye and shed a few tears as I made the trip back to Clemmons. Our farwell inspired this card that I hope will inspire you!

After arriving home, and sitting at my stamp desk to create a card for an upcoming male birthday for a family friend I thought of that sweet goodbye. I decided to turn my mourning into gladness and created this little jewel. After getting online to post the card, I discovered I was picked by Nancy Riley over at ISTAMP where she picks a selection of her favorite cards and projects found during the week. Check out her blog, it contains awesome inspiration.

Well on to the post…

Blog Tour Cheep Talk

Tour 6    Stop 10

Don’t forget to bookmark your favorite blogs as the links that make up this tour will disappear at midnight on May 16th.

Welcome to the May 15-16 Blog Tour. We are so glad you have decided to join us for this inspirational tour of the Spring Summer Idea Book and Catalog. I hope you will sit back, grab ya a cup of Joe, and enjoy! The set I will feature today is “Cheep Talk”. The set is new to the line and coordinates with several complimentary stamp sets. The entire set and pricing are as follows:

Cheep Talk

I just love birds. Sitting at my kitchen table with a warm cup of Joe and watching the birds at the feeders in the mornings is just grand. They are such delicate creatures and so enjoyable to watch. The birds in this set are the cutest. By adding a flower in her hair, I created a his and her bird set. May and June have more anniversaries than any other months for me. This one was created to fill this need. This first card also follows the MOJO86 sketch. Hope you enjoy.

Together Forever

Ink: Pacific Point, Pumpkin Pie, Real Red
Accessories:Pacific Point ribbon, Eyelet Punch, Stamp-a-ma-Jig, Paper Snips, Dimensionals

My second project is another card using the lovely bloom in the set. The inspiration for this card came from the bright yellow flowers blooming in my neighbors yard. I can see them from my breakfast room window while enjoying coffee and watching the birds. The sentiment was added using the Bright Delights Rub-Ons directly to the ribbon. Didn’t that work just great?

My favorite flower is a bright yellow daisy. This bloom reminds me of them. The little corduroy button fit perfectly in the center. Isn’t it just “cute as a button”? The card follows the MOJO82 sketch.

The final project is in honor of National Scrapbooking month. Don’t forget the Stampin’ Up special this month on designer paper. When you purchase 3 packs, your fourth one is free.

My family and several couples went on a camping trip this past fall. We went to Black Mountain and had a great time. Rob was our official photographer and gave each family a cd of all the pictures he captured on the trip. I decided it was time to do something with all of the lovely pictures. I also had a pattern someone shared with me for a flip book I had been itching to try out. I married the two and this is the result!

It turned out magnificantly. This set works great for scrapbooking any type of outdoor pictures. The bright Good Morning Sunshine Designer Paper pairs with it in grand style. See me tomorrow and I will share how I put this together. Hope you enjoy this one and will try it out for yourself.

This is the outside front cover…

Flip Book Cover

This is a view from above of the book partially open. There are 7-9 pages available for decorating. I was able to put over 25 pictures in this one book.

Open Book

This is a close up shot of the first page of the book. The “Petal Pizazz” stamp set works well with Cheep Talk, and compliments it wonderfully. The letters were cut with the Big Shot using Billboard.

The birds were so cute singing over each set of pictures. The limb is awesome. It can be used from the right or left direction and the birds perch upon it either way. The following is a shot of the second fold out page.

Just let your imagination run wild!

I have had fun making so many great cards with the “Cheep Talk” set. I decided to post several in hopes of building excitement for the tour this weekend. This is also my first card for the LNS Challenge 19 this week. Hope you have fun with this one…

Designing with MOJO85

Well it isn’t Monday, but I didn’t let that hold me back.

Whoa the internet is back up! It has been down for the past day and a half in my neck of the woods. Maybe it was a blessing in disguise, I had plenty of time to get some stamping in. Had fun messing around with the sketch this week. This is my favorite of several cards. The inspiration for the colors came from my Vera Bradley pocketbook. No wonder I like it so much. Why don’t you go grab your stamps and try one out today?

LNS Challenge 18

Today’s post follows the challenge on Late Night Stampers to create a project using at least 3 circles. This one was loads of fun. Hope you will play along. Just link your idea to your comment.

The page was created and placed into a frame to share as a gift to my husband’s sister. They live in Long Island NY and came down for a visit. We took them to the airport. My son, Dustin was taking flying lessons and took them up for a test flight. We captured great pictures from overhead and enjoyed a beautiful day in the sunshine.

Framing your creations is a great way to create wall art and show off what you can do with Stampin Up products.

Shower Card

Today’s post is a shower card created for a new stamping friend. She was traveling to Florida to attend the shower, and her request was something with a sailboat and primary colors for a boy. I didn’t have the set Nursery Necessities so I improvised and made the cut out shapes with my trusty paper snips. The scallop border was done with the corner rounder punch. The designer paper was some from the last catalog hostess items. Sometimes you just have to think outside the box. Hope you enjoy…

An Invitation

Today I am in Georgia hosting a shower for my son’s best friend and his future bride. Today’s post is my very first flower pot card. I made 30 of these in one afternoon. The insert includes all of the shower information. I printed it off from the computer in Chocolate Chip using the rgb colors for Stampin Up!. Boy was I busy! My inspiration came from a friend on Late Night Stampers from the design team, Jenn D.

Jantz wanted an outdoor couples shower where the guests showered them with yard tools. We decided on the theme “Love Blooms” and went with a cookout on the grill. The decorations carried the flower pot theme. We are using watering cans filled with flowers the couple can plant at their new home. I’m sure we will have a great time. Well without further delay…
