Card using MOJO123

This is my first try with the new Sweet Pea Stitched Felt. What do you think? I learned to make the flowers today following this helpful tutorial.

Masking Technique

For this month’s technique class we learned to mask. The sample uses a reverse mask and would be a great masculine Valentine.

Scrapbook Class

The focus this month is Love. Valentine’s Day is a wonderful opportunity to share with those close to you how much you care. For this month’s Scrapbook Class I chose to scrap Valentine’s Day with my sweetie from last year. We went on a Yadkin Valley Wine Tour for the day. It began with roses and a quick overview of wine tasting. We visited four wineries and learned how it was grown, harvested, blended, bottled and aged. We enjoyed a romantic lunch overlooking the breathtaking view of the Vadkin Valley. The day was bright, sunny, and a little cool. It was a wonderful Valentine gift from my sweetheart. Spending time with him is the light of my life. I wonder what he’ll cook up for this year, I can hardly wait.

Creative Tips:

1. A romantic mood is often created using the distressing technique. It is also a great way to dispose of those bits and pieces of designer paper left over from other projects.

2. A Bone Folder will help you to break done the fibers in the paper to create a soft pliable material. The distressing tool from the Cutter Kit ruffs up the edges.

3. The Big Shot helped with the flowers and leaves. Just layer several circle and flower shapes then scrunch. The product, a 3-D flower in no time at all. Don’t forget the brads and buttons for a finishing touch.

4. The Sending Love Specialty Designer Paper pairs well with Bella Bleu. We achieved a creative effect from a closer look at the beautiful patterned paper. The design was accentuated by following the pattern with a handy pair of Paper Snips. See what you can achieve by thinking outside the box!

Friends Valentine

One of the things I love about being a Stampin’ Up Demonstrator is traveling to visit many wonderful new places. On our recent trip to Phoenix Arizona for Leadership, we enjoyed special time with friends, learning, and best of all sharing! My card share today honors YOU and my suite mates Rene’ and Frances. I’m also playing over at Pals Paper Arts. Hope you’ll come on along and do a little playing of your own.

Creative Tips:

1. Pleats are coming back in style. The new Satin Ribbon is easily pleated by gently tugging on the top cord of the ribbon. Gather it a little or a lot for a new way to embellish your cards or projects.

2. The background uses an emboss resist technique to create a very vintage look. You’ll need some Clear Embossing Powder, the Very Vintage Wheel, and a Sponge. Wouldn’t you like to learn to do this at a workshop of your own?

3. Ragged edges are common in a vintage look. The card stock can be torn or distressed to create the effect. The distressing tool from the Cutter Kit is your must have for this one.
