Elements of Style Swap Card

Creative Tips:

1. The Elements of Style Stamp Set is from Shelli’s Signature Collection. Her favorite style is vintage and this set is great for capturing that aged look with style. If vintage isn’t your favorite, the images are so versatile you can create your very own personal style.

2. To create the scallop border around the circle, begin with a 3/4″ x 12″ strip of card stock or designer paper. Next scallop the longest side, distress the strip with a Bone Folder, and finally run through your Crimper. Apply adhesive to the back side of your circle and gently wrap the strip around attaching it as you go. I used up a scrap of Merry Moments left over from Christmas.

3. The striped pattern on the Rose Red panel was done using my Scoring Blade and Paper Cutter.

4. The Old Olive Satin Ribbon bow added a feminine homespun finishing touch. It was applied with a Pop-Up Glue Dot.

Watercolor Trio

Creative Tips:

1. The focal image was created by coloring the stamp with Stampin’ Write Markers and spraying with water before stamping. With the Watercolor Trio Stamp Set, an amateur could pass for a pro! This one is available through the Summer Mini catalog beginning May 1.

2. The textured background panel was created using my Big Shot and the Perfect Details Texturz Plate. The trick to getting a strong impression is to spray the card stock with water before rolling through the Big Shot.

3. The dainty Bashful Blue Grosgrain Ribbon gives the project that perfect little finishing touch. I just love how it turned out! I am creating 30 of these for a close friend.

Fifth Avenue Floral

Creative Tips:

1. The flowers from Fifth Avenue Floral and sentiment are stamped using Versamark and Black Embossing Powder. After heating, the embossing powder has a nice sheen that adds to the look of any stamped project. It also creates a barrier to prevent colors from bleeding when watercoloring.

2. The texture on the bottom panel was created using my Paper Cutter and a Scoring Blade. The top texture is from the Backgrounds 1 Texturz Plates. Each plate has two texture options for a total of six in the set. It offers a great value when you want to add a soft subtle pattern or design to your favorite project.

3. The card stock is Blush Blossom. I must admit it is the first time I have ever used this color. It is a soon to retire offering. Please order your retiring favorites early, it will help avoid disappointment later when they are gone. Click to download Fond Farewell Retiring Colors

Scrapbook Class

Creative Tips:

1. Following a template to create scrapbook pages and cards is quick and easy. Download the template for this class and follow the step by step instructions for a beautiful page you will enjoy sharing with others.

2. The scallop border is done with the 1 1/4″ Circle Punch. When you nest the circle in the top of your cutter the blade will cut the circle exactly in half to create the pattern pictured here. Spaced between several scallops is Ruby Red Brads from the Earth Elements Brad Collection.

3. The larger scallop from the Scallop Circle # 2 Die worked perfect for journaling placement. The circle was cut using the Circle Scissors Plus. I find myself using the Big Shot on almost every project these days. Sure makes creating a breeze. Can you find two more Big Shot items?

Big Shot Fabric Class

Creative Tips:

1. Did you know our Big Shot Bigz Dies cut up to eight layers of fabric? The Rag Purse uses Stampin’ Up’s Exclusive Scallop Square Die for each quilt square. Layer with cotton batting, sew an “x” in the middle, and attach together for a cute hip way to carry around all of your goodies.

2. The button was a Summer Sun Corduroy Brad covered with a piece of matching material and attached at the center of the square.

3. The handles are 1 1/4″ Pumpkin Pie Striped Grosgrain Ribbon. Our fashionable up to date colors coordinate so well with current fashion trends.

4. Let’s not forget those matching accessories. The flower can be attached to the purse for a beautiful embellishment, sewn to a headband or hair tie, worn as a broach, attached to the cuff of a favorite pair of gloves or a host of other creative uses. All you need for this one is the Scallop Circle #2 Die and a button.
