Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #62

Today’s share follows Sketch Challenge #62 over at the sweetest thing… Join in on the fun and play along!

Creative Tips:

1. The bird is created using the Extra Large Two-Step Bird Punch from the Occasions Mini Catalog at Stampin’ Up. I experimented with some retired designer paper from Bella Rose to create a variegated look on the bird. What do you think?

2. The Kraft background is rolled with the Friendly Words Wheel in Versamark and embossed with Clear Powder. Next it is sponged using several colors. Finally the Distressing Tool is dragged down each side for a unique vintage look.

3. The Pretty in Pink Satin Ribbon ties the yummiest bows. This one is layered using a button from Button Latte for a home spun vintage appeal. It is attached to the bow with Linen Thread.

  1. Beautiful, Dacia! Love the bird and the embossed flourish behind him (or her–she has a pink wing!). This is just a very elegant card.

    • Barbara, thanks for your sweet comment. Vintage isn’t really my style, but I was inspired by so many beautiful samples at Leadership and on the web, I just had to give it a try. I guess we all need to try something new every now and then. I really liked how it turned out.

  2. As a fellow SU Demonstrator, I so appreciate that when I look at your site for ideas for workshops, I find everything made with SU products. That really helps me in my workshops and I hope you don’t mind my CASEing your work from time to time!

    • Sue, thanks for the sweet comment! You are welcome to case any idea offered here, please link back to my post. I’d love to see your take on the ideas. So glad you found my inspiration helpful. Have a great week. Dacia
